3/4 of an hour with Abigail, and I'm feeling very mellow.
She told me about a great book she was enjoying, then I asked what she felt she might need this morning. She said, "Anything".
So we started in the Rock, and really breathed into the asana.
Came up to Table Top, exhaled into Cat Bow, then did a few Cat/Cows. Back into Table Top, then Cat Bow into Crocodile.
I really wanted Abigail to feel the breath in the belly, and to feel it emptying out. And to feel the stretch in the lower back.
Came up to Sphinx Pose, then inhaled up to Puppy Stretch. Came up to Hero's Pose and rotated the wrists.
Came to sit on our mats in Staff Pose, wind shield wipered and stretched out feet.
Came into Easy Pose, exhaled into a Seated Forward Bend, inhaled up to a Seated Back Bend. Came to center, then did a simple Seated Spinal Twist on both sides.
Rolled up our mats and came to sit against the wall, where I directed her in a Lotus Mudra Meditation for several minutes.
Unrolled mats and came to sit with knees up--inhaled up to Inverted Bridge.
Rolled down on our backs, knees to ceiling. Brought arms up beside ears and breathed into the stretch. Exhaled arms out to a T, brought Knees to Chest, arms hugging knees and rocked, releasing the neck.
Came into Happy Baby--this took a lot of focus, but after Abigail got the hang of it, she found a suitable way to rock in the pose.
Back to Knees to Chest, released feet to mat, inhaled arms up beside ears, then went into a Bridge. Brought arms out to a T, into another Bridge. Knees to Chest for a little break, and finally, arms at side, inhaled into one more Bridge.
Release legs down to mat, rubbed hands together, covered eyes with palms and sunk into relaxation.
Namaste.
And finally, Savasana.
It seemed like I packed more than I should have into this 40 minutes, and I worked really hard not to be late for her fitness session with Dave. I think next week I'll focus more on being on the back. It seemed like I had her moving from supine, to seated, back to supine maybe a little too fast.
